Welcome
to Milk House Antiques & Lissa's Closet! We
are a mother/daughter team and we are here to offer you some wonderful
items, and the great service that you expect from an online business.
Milk
House Antiques opened for business in 1990 when Norma found her
attic, closets, and basement were full. The original store location
was in our old milking barn, but in 1999 the business was moved
to the new basement addition in our home.
Norma
retired from teaching business education in 2000 and enlarged
the shop. Melissa, her daughter, has always taken an interest
in the business...especially when Norma came home from antiquing.
Melissa would look over all of mom's finds-taking what she wanted
first. The web site was initiated as a means for Melissa to sell
some of her inheritance. Thus, the name - Lissa's Closet.
Antiquing
is an addiction. Collecting is even worse. We will do our best
to describe the item but some items are unmarked and just loved.
Don't hesitate to call us.
I'm
Looking For section lists the items we are trying to find.
Our first antique was a doll given to Mom in 1949. Royal Worcester,
Rookwood, Roseville, Weller, bottles, plates, animal figurines,
covered boxes, Dragon Ware cups with lithopanes in bottom, McDonald's
toys are just a few of the items Mom's collected over the years.
The first antique shop Mom visited was Ms. Adams in Greentop,
MO, in 1963. Ms. Adams words of wisdom have haunted her since:
Don't ever buy anything you don't like. Mom's problem: SHE LIKES
TOO MUCH!
